DALLAS, TX – Big Tex, the iconic greeter at The Texas State Fair is gone, kaput, destroyed!

Before high noon, Tex became toast. A fire started in his neck area, and quickly spread to the rest of his cowboy body.

Dallas fire rescue couldn’t do much. A 9-1-1 dispatch call includes a man saying, “You have a rather tall cowboy with his clothes burned-off.”

Big Tex was gone in ten minutes. The fire may have been caused by an electrical issue.

He leaves behind 60 years at the state fair, size 70 boots, a 75-gallon hat and a really big pair of Dickies jeans!

We’re hearing Tex will back and better than ever by next year.
