BRYAN, TX – The number 21 can mean different things to different people.

For instance, ’21’ is the title of Adele’s second album.

It’s another name for blackjack, and the title of the movie about college students who scam Vegas, at the blackjack tables.

It’s a wine and music bar in Galveston.

January 21 is the twenty-first day of the year.

And, 21 is the legal drinking age in Texas.

It also is a number familiar to Elijah Adams of Bryan, Texas. That’s because 21 is the number of times his driver’s license has been suspended.

The Bryan newspaper says police there arrested him over the weekend after they spotted a car sitting in the middle of the road with its engine running. Police say Adams took off when they approached, and drove through four intersections before stopping.

Why? Well, police say he told them he drove off because his passenger was drunk, and he kept on driving because he didn’t hear the sirens or the see the lights.
