HOUSTON, TX – It’s not your average day in school.
Students from Houston’s Grady Middle School were learning more about basic survival. The seventh and eighth graders flew up to Boston for a field trip last Thursday. They were supposed to come back Sunday, but Hurricane Sandy pushed that back three days. Boston fared okay, but flights have been disrupted across the country.
Parents admit they were a little concerned, but the students say they had a good time. Their hotel did not lose power, so they held lessons in the conference room and made the best of the situation. Still, everyone seemed happy to be back home.
‘It’s still nice to know that we’re back home and get to see our families,’ says Caroline Cox.
That’s a lesson that really counts.
