HOUSTON, TX – For a few weeks now, prosecutors have made their case against Jessica Tata.

They said these four children died because Tata literally walked away from her responsibility at that Southwest side day care.

Now it’s her lawyers turn, and it seems they’re all fired up about a stove.

An engineering expert told jurors that her Electrolux stove was known to be ‘problematic’, with ‘faulty switches’ and might have turned on all by itself.

Just a lot of hot air? Or a legitimate claim by her lawyers?

The prosecution fired back with testimony from a forensic engineer, who said that he found no problems with Tata’s stove.

Witness testimony continues, but it’s unknown if Tata will take the stand in her own defense.

She’s facing life in prison if convicted.
