HOUSTON, TX – Tea Party candidate Ted Cruz is now senator-elect in Texas.  He had no problem beating ex-state solicitor general Paul Sadler last night 57% to 41%.

His real competition was in the primary. But Ted Cruz painted David Dewhurst as a moderate, while he ran on a more starkly conservative platform.

Cruz will fill Kay Bailey Hutchinson’s seat.
