HOUSTON, TX – It’s not been long since the Rocket’s said hello to rookie forward Royce White, and they’re already saying goodbye just a few weeks into the regular season.
Royce’s anxiety disorder makes it tough for him to fly, which was initially something the Rockets thought could be managed. Apparently, the anxiety was more of a problem than either of them anticipated.
So, the Rocket’s demoted White along with fellow rookies Scott Machado and Donatas Motiejunas, to their D-league affiliate in the Rio Grand Valley.
All the Rockets general manager Daryl Morey had to say was, “Royce is not available right now. We are committed to his long term success and we will continue to support him now and going forward.”
Poor guy! As if the anxiety isn’t hard enough to handle, now this?
Don’t worry Royce, it might seem like the end of the world right now, but this too shall pass.
