District 6 new candidate makes his debut

It was a race to the death for Texas’ Senate seat in District 6.

Then, returning champion, Senator Mario Gallegos died and still won the election.

So, two friends of the late Senator, Representative Carol Alvarado and former Harris County Commissioner, Sylvia Garcia, threw their hats in the ring thinking the January 26th special election would surely go to one of the two.

Now, there’s a new contender.

Joaquin Martinez may not have political experience, but he says his grassroots movement is more about people in the community than political know-how.

He’s a fresh face promising constituents in District 6 fresh ideas.

So, if you’re planning on voting, check him out.

We don’t care who you vote for, but it’s important to know your options.
