PHILADELPHIA – 22 Philadelphia high schools will have something new when the kids go back to class… condom dispensers.

They are being installed over the winter break inside the nurse’s office for each school.

The plan is to promote safer sex among teenagers.

The chosen schools have the highest rates of sexually transmitted disease in the city.

According to the centers for disease control, about a quarter of all new HIV infections in Philadelphia are teens. That`s a scary statistic.

The condoms will be free to any student whose parent didn’t opt them out of the program.

Wonder how many parents out there will actually opt out of this?

City officials say STDs among teens is an epidemic that needs to be stopped.
