Indianapolis, IN – The Houston Texans waste a chance to clinch home field advantage when they lost on the road 28-16 to the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts were emotionally charged by the return of head coach Chuck Pagano who made his return to the sidelines after battling leukemia for much of the year.
The Texans had a brief lead in the 3rd quarter with 16-14 but then Deji Karim returned a kickoff for 101 yards to give the Colts a 21-16 lead. Indianapolis would extend their lead in the fourth when Andrew Luck hit T.Y. Hilton for a 70 yard touchdown pass on 3rd and 23.
The Texans finish the regular season at 12-4 and need losses from both the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots if they still want the AFC’s top seed, but if both the Broncos and Patriots win, then the Texans will fall to the three seed and host the Cincinnati Bengals next weekend.
