Starbucks says, “Good morning, Vietnam!”
HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM – “Good morning, Vietnam!” It’s not really a ‘good morning’ until you’ve had at least one cup of coffee, right?
The Vietnamese people would agree, and now the entire country is buzzing over the news that Starbucks will soon open its first cafe in Ho Chi Minh City.
After all, you can’t spell ‘Vietnam’ without ‘Venti’!
The Vietnam coffee culture is a little different.
Most caffeine-junkies get their fix at family-run sidewalk cafes.
But, something tells us Starbucks will have no problem luring in customers!
Here’s a fun fact about Vietnam: It is the world’s second-largest coffee producer behind Brazil, and already provides high-quality beans for Starbucks stores in other countries.
The “bean counters” couldn’t be happier about expanding their Asian footprint in the fourth quarter of 2012, Starbucks brewed up more than $198 million in profits from the Asia-Pacific region.
The company is planning on opening hundreds of more locations, and pretty soon places like Ho Chi Minh City will be just like the Bayou City with a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks!
Now, how do I order a ‘Vanilla Spice Latte’ in Vietnamese?
