Toyota, Audi unveil self-driving cars at CES

LAS VEGAS, NV – Why drive when you can ride?  No, this isn’t another planes, trains and automobiles debate.  This is an actual look into the future. A driver-less car masterminded to do one thing. Allow you to do what you do best while driving.

Like shave, eat or text.

Don’t bother paying attention to the road or other cars around you when you can simply sit back while the automated system does all the work. It’s fine, take a nap.

Toyota and Audi are highlighting their self-driving vehicles at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas.

Toyota dropped a preview on their website with the caption insuring that the “Lexus advanced active safety research vehicle is leading the industry into a new automated era.”

And the new era starts with a modified Lexus LS 600h- hybrid fitted with radar and camera equipment that can detect other vehicles and people walking in front of the vehicle, road-lane lines and traffic signals and giving the vehicle the ability to navigate streets without a driver.

Audi’s new tech allows a car to not only find a parking space, but park itself without a driver behind the wheel. Along with pointing you in the right direction.

Just make sure you’re in the car when it takes off.

On second thought that could lead to a whole new past time.
