Study shows inner thoughts related to stress

DALLAS, TX – Stressed? Try not to think about it. Really. Turns out the more stressed you think you are, the more stressed you’ll be.

According to a new study published in the American Journal of Cardiology, people who perceive themselves as stressed can experience higher risks of coronary heart disease and other cardiovascular hazards than those facing similar obstacles who don’t perceive themselves as stressed.

Turns out, the way we perceive obstacles has a bigger impact on the amount of stress we put on our bodies than we thought. Meaning that when it comes to stress, much is all in the mind.

Sort of.

While our bodies certainly feel the effects of stress in things like high-blood-pressure and tight muscles, we have a greater ability to control those symptoms in the way we perceive the challenges in our life.

In other words: keep calm and carry on, even when you feel overwhelmed.

Or if you’re old-school you can always say, ‘Calgon take me away!’
