HOUSTON, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Department led a town hall meeting Thursday night to talk about school and community safety.  Ironically, it was planned before this week’s shooting at Lone Star College that wounded three.

The sheriff’s department teamed up with school reps and community leaders to hear public concerns and share ideas.

“This conversation was intended to empower the community,” said Sheriff Adrian Garcia.

It was a free for all, with all the topics you would expect, including arming teachers. But remember this was all talk, and no action. We give kudos to everyone who showed-up. Sharing ideas and opening the dialogue is an important step.
