ORANGE BEACH, AL – Staples has an Easy Button and old folks have Life Alert. Now teachers in Orange Beach, Alabama have panic buttons.

The devices were given to teachers and staff at Orange Beach Elementary School. They can wear them around their necks or keep them within reach in case of an emergency. When the button is pushed, blue lights go off throughout the school prompting everyone to go into lock-down mode.

School administrators hope this will help prevent the school tragedies we’ve become all too familiar with.
