Houston puts in bid for 2017 Super Bowl
HOUSTON, TX – Anyone who was out during All-Star weekend or at the Rodeo cook off knows this is the truth: “It’s not too much to say, I don’t think, that Houston knows how to throw one hell of a good party.”
That was said by former Secretary of State James Baker, who is now the honorary chairman of Houston’s Super Bowl LI Bid Committee.
He’s joined by Camden Properties CEO Richard “Ric” Campo, who will serve as Chairman.
They’re tasked with convincing the 33 NFL owners to vote for the Bayou City as host for Super Bowl LI.
We know one guy who’s got our backs: Texans Owner Bob McNair. He said, “We have wonderful facilities here, as you know, with Reliant Stadium. There’s no better Stadium in the NFL.”
Well, we think the bid is a no-brainer. Let’s just hope the halftime performers have the brains to not pull another “wardrobe malfunction.”
