HOUSTON, TX – Man oh man was Houston on fire Monday night. A fire broke out near our NewsFix studios at the Westheimer Apartments on Westheimer near Dunvale.

Officials say the fire started in one unit and quickly spread to a few more. One resident says his roommate left to workout, only to come back to discover the fire.

“She forgot her headphones, so she went back inside to get them and she said something in my room was on fire,” said apartment resident Adam Turner.

That wasn’t the only fire that broke out. Someone opened fire at the Alanza Brook Apartments on Dunvale and NewsFix pulled up as the suspect was being restrained.

Police say the shooter, Joe Falcon, shot at two men who followed him home after they had an argument nearby. No one was hurt, but Joe was arrested and charged.

So whether it was the burning, or the bullets, the beginning of the week in the Bayou City was hot!
