WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the U.S. Supreme Court talking gay marriage, many people showed their support by uploading the Human Right Campaign’s logo for marriage equality.
It came in slightly varied forms, but the message was the same. Now whether you’re for it, or against it, that’s a whole other thing. But there’s some interesting numbers that came from Facebook.
Facebook says that on March 26, 2013, when the HRC asked gay marriage supporters to ‘paint the town red’ with their new logo, they saw a record number of uploads. Nearly three million people uploaded the symbol. Facebook says profile photo uploads went up by 120%.
Sure gay marriage is a divided issue in our country, but if social media is any indicator, maybe it means something just might change.
