Ammonium nitrate led to West blast, cause of fire still unknown

WEST, TX – What went wrong in West? For now all investigators know for sure is that ammonium nitrate is what exploded on April 17th.

The blast killed fourteen people, tore-up the town and left a 90 foot wide crater where the chemical used to be stored.

There’s still no word on what caused the fire.
