DAMASCUS, SYRIA – The internet in Syria appears to have returned, after a nineteen hour blackout left a lot of people pointing fingers. State-run media initially blamed optical fiber cables, but experts say that’s ‘unlikely.’

This is the second time in six months the country has gone dark. In November, Syrians were offline for three days.

Activists say the government is trying to silence rebel communications. A civil war has been brewing in Syria for two years.
