The 787’s were grounded back in January, due to concerns about the plane’s batteries. But for this new and improved bird it’s all systems go!
United CEO, Jeff Smisek says, “We are delighted to have the 787 back in service. It’s a terrific airplane, our customers love it and we’re very pleased to have it back up.”
Boeing and the FAA are completely satisfied that the battery issue was fixed and looked forward to more Dreamliner flights in the future.
The airline is keeping the 787 on domestic routes for the time being, but plans to switch it over to international flight soon where its fuel efficiency would be most noticeable.
