fireFREEPORT, BAHAMAS – For the third time this year, mechanical failure has disrupted a tropical vacation for thousands of cruise ship passengers.

This time more than 2,200 passengers had to return from their Bahamas-bound cruise ship after a fire broke out on the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas.

Royal Caribbean canceled the rest of the voyage and is flying passengers from Freeport back to Baltimore where the ship left port on Friday for a seven-night cruise.

The coast guard and the National Transportation Safety Board will now investigate.
