babyJINHUA, CHINA – It would be nice to think things like this don’t exist, but video out of China captures an ugly truth.

There are frequent reports of abandoned babies in China, and a recent case forced first responders to cut into an apartment building’s plumbing to save a crying newborn.

Neighbors heard the crying from their toilet.  Firefighters had to pry open pipes, but ultimately, they pulled the baby to safety. Doctors say the little boy is now in stable condition.
