Austin is on the list of the final four contenders to host ESPN’s X Games. Texas’ capital is up against Detroit, Chicago and Charlotte. So, 10 judges from ESPN headed to Austin to soak up the sun and the culture of the city. Thousands came out to support and to show their skills on the ramp.
Austin seems great with events, but official’s one con could be the heat. However, the X Games don’t have to happen in the summer, so the dates are flexible.
Judges are expected to announce the winning city on June 27. If Austin wins, city officials say the games could bring in about $50 million. The city would be the site of X Games for the next three years.
