While floodwater’s are receding today, torrential rains have caused local rivers to overrun their banks completely devastating the Calgary region.
Unless residents had a spare canoe sitting around most of them had to evacuate.
Drowned-out cars have been reduced to nothing more than road-hazards for passing boats, which is the only way to get around.
Three people have died in the floodwater’s, and a fourth may still be missing.
With rainfall letting up however, there’s a silver lining.
Officials hope residents can start returning home to survey the damage.
