HOUSTON, TX – North Forest Independent School District is giving it a last ditch effort to keep their schools open, and avoid being over-taken by HISD. So, they’re asking a federal judge for a restraining order against the very people who they say are trying to take them down, the Texas Education Agency.
North Forest is claiming the forced closure violates parts of the voting rights act, and they’ve already filed an appeal with Texas’ 3rd court of appeals in Austin against T.E.A. Commissioner Michael Williams for revoking the school’s accreditation and ordering the district’s closure and annexation.
You’ve got to give it to them. If the schools of North Forest really are out forever it wasn’t from a lack of effort!
