DENVER, CO – A first grader in Denver just won a legal battle that is more far-reaching than she could possibly understand at just six years old. Coy Mathis was born male, but identifies as a female.
She just won the right to use the girl’s restroom at her school.
The Colorado Rights Division ruled that the ban in-place at Coy’s school created an environment that was “objectively and subjectively hostile, intimidating or offensive.”
It’s being viewed a major win for the Mathis family, and the transgender community.
