ozHOUSTON, TX – Do you feel like defying gravity? “Wicked: The Untold Story of the Witches of Oz”, returns to the Bayou City. From July 10 to August 11, the acclaimed Broadway Musical will bring its magic to the Hobby Center, downtown.

“We are very excited to be back in Houston,’ says Kevin Beebee, the company manager for Wicked. ‘It’s great to be able to come back to a really good city and a great theater.”

“Because this is all about witches we have flying and we have all the effects that you would expect having seen the movie The Wizard of Oz,” explained production stage manager David O’Brien.

It’s been nearly a decade since these guys hit the road and haven’t stopped touring the country since.

“I love it,’ confessed O’Brien. ‘I love being able to take the show to different cities, to see the reactions… and the reactions are very similar.”

Now it’s time to get everything ready for the big opening. Trucks and trucks of equipment, lights and secret special effects that we were asked not to reveal came straight from Milwaukee, Wisconsin… all down the yellow brick road.

“It takes about thirty hours for us to load the show in,’ said O’Brien. ‘We have thirteen full sized trailers.”

With amazing music, scenery and choreography, Wicked is going to blow your mind. So, when there’s so much talent on stage who needs magic?
