HOUSTON, TX – Want to go out for a nice meal and help the hungry all at the same time?
Here’s your chance — Houston Restaurant Weeks!
Starting August 1st through September 2nd, participating area restaurants offer 2 to 4 course meals at pre-set prices – $20, $35 or $45 per meal, with part of the earnings donated to the Houston Good Bank. As little as a $3 donation can provide 9 meals for the hungry.
Dan Zimmerman, owner of Restaurant Cinq explained, “It’s a great opportunity to get Houston diners into restaurants they wouldn’t normally, otherwise try. It’s a wonderful win-win situation for the restaurants and the guests.”
Restaurant Cinq, in Hotel La Colombe D’or is one of about 170 restaurants you’ll be able to enjoy. It offers modern European cuisine and during restaurant weeks, you’ll be able to sample their creations, but your tab will be a little smaller.
Zimmerman said, “A five dollar donation out of a $35 dinner and a $7 donation out of a $45 dinner are donated to the Houston Food Bank and the restaurants obviously get exposure.”
Last year the event raised over $1.2 million.
Everyone walks away happy. You enjoy a pleasant meal out, and the food bank will be able to offer meals to those who can’t afford them.
