HARRIS COUNTY – Houston’s Department of Health and Human Services has confirmed five cases of Cyclospora.

Although, the folks investigating this whole thing have quite the conundrum on their hands.

“We’re still doing our investigation to make sure that they are linked to the multi-state outbreak,” said Porfirio Villarreal, Public Information Officer for the Houston Department of Health and Human Services.

So far, the FDA has only been able to pin the source in Iowa and Nebraska. In those states, the FDA says it came from bagged lettuce from the company Taylor Farms of Salinas California and was served at Olive Garden and Red Lobster.

But there are 14 other states with sick people.

Until they figure it out, people are encouraged to wash all of their produce.

Happy eating!
