SEDALIA, MO – Presidents have a nasty habit of showing up in off-the-wall places. Well, their masks, at least.

Former President George W. Bush has been placed on a spike in the HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’. He even did triple duty as himself as Satan as Hitler.

So, it’s interesting that a rodeo is setting a lot of hair on fire. It happened during a bull-riding event at the Missouri State Fair Saturday night.

Rodeo announcer Mark Ficken is president of the Missouri Cowboy Rodeo Association and superintendent of the Boonville School District. He’s the one who introduced the Obama clown to the crowd, “Hey, let me tell these people about who we got helpin’. Obama’s just gonna have to stay there. Obama, watch out for those bulls.”

At one point, the clowning around seemed to get a little political for a rodeo.

“Woo-hoo, we’re gonna stomp Obama, man,” said the clown.

The Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association posted an apology on its Web site, but did not mention Obama by name.

Missouri’s Republican Lt. Governor Peter Kinder tweeted that he condemned the disrespect to ‘POTUS’, but also did not mention Obama by name.

Democratic senator Claire McCaskill noted that because the state fair gets public money, it should not be a place for political commentary, and especially jokes about harming the president.

All this rodeo bull seemed to upset everyone but President Obama who hit the links over the weekend at the start of this Martha’s Vineyard vacation.
