If you haven’t seen Kraft’s ad campaign for their Zesty Italian Dressing, you’re missing out. It features one hot Italian stallion, undressing while promoting the dressing. It’s like 50 Shades of Grey in the kitchen. He even refers to his Italian sausage. Talk about food porn.
Bored housewives can even interact with the Zesty guy by writing him a hot and steamy note.
But is it a little too Zesty? One Million Moms of course has their panties in a bunch. Saying it’s “…unnecessary for Kraft to use s*x to sell salad dressing!”
Kraft has just used the criticism to fuel the fire and has released more Zesty ads. Now you can catch the Zesty guy outside of the kitchen and trying out different flavors of dressing.
Personally, I think it’s about time the tables are turned and women get a little eye candy. Goodness forbid we’d enjoy a little double entendre in the kitchen and a sexy Italian sous chef. Never mind the ads featuring half naked women, like Kate Upton, scarfing down some juicy meat.
So is this ad campaign sexy? Yes, but I’m ok with that. At the end of the day, sex sells. And honestly if you can’t just laugh at the irony of this ad, you need zest in more places than just the kitchen.
