HUMBLE, TX – We are taught not to value material things. But your heart can’t help but hurt when you see a home up in flames.

A million dollar, 9,700 square foot mansion in the 7600 block of Serene Avenue in Humble burned early Tuesday morning.

Lt. Chad Shaw with the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office said, “The second floor is collapsed down to the first floor. It was already starting to collapse when the fire department started to arrive.”

It took multiple agencies to put out the fire, and when it was all over the house was a total loss. Investigators don’t yet know what caused it.

Fortunately, no one was home. The homeowner had reportedly been living with relatives.

It’s family people need the most in times like these.
