NEW YORK, NY – Ever had that panicked feeling when you reach for your wallet and it isn’t there?

Hopefully someone was nice enough to return it to you!

Reader’s Digest recently did an experiment to find some good Samaritans who would return lost wallets. Twelve wallets were dropped in major cities around the world and of the dropped wallets, only 47% were returned.

Helsinki, Finland was the most honest with 11 out of 12 wallets returned, followed by Mumbai, India with 9 wallets returned. Budapest, Hungary and New York City tied for third place with 8 returned.

The least honest city? Lisbon, Portugal where only one wallet was returned.
