HOUSTON, TX – There’s an app for just about everything these days. So, keeping up with the times, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office partnered up with Houston Independent School District to extend it’s free app, iWatch Harris County, allowing HISD students, parents and teachers to report crimes in and around their campus. Like it or not school violence is a very real reality for kids these days.
If it sounds familiar, that’s because Fort Bend ISD Text-A-Tip app a few months back, and it looks like kids everywhere are learning to say something if they see something. Sheriffs are now working with 24 other school districts within Harris County to rollout this app to their campuses within the next six weeks.
Finally, a legitimate reason for students to have their phones out in school!
