HOUSTON, TX – The holidays can be hard for families of fallen military, but the American Airlines Kids in Need program is offering them a heaping helping of holiday cheer.

The Snowball Express flies the families to Dallas for a few days to bring hope, joy and new memories to the children who have lost a parent on active duty.

Unfortunately, Santa couldn’t make it to see the kids off, but Mrs. Claus, the Patriot Guard Riders and a school choir were there in his place!

The snowball express receives a proper send-off, complete with water cannon salute upon departure.

For some kids who have been through some hard times, this holiday season is a time where their spirits can soar.
