CENTENNIAL, CO – Still a lot of questions in Centennial, Colorado just a day after a gunman opened fire in a high school.

Arapahoe County sheriff’s deputies say two students were shot in Arapahoe High.

One student, a 15-year-old girl, is in critical condition.

The other, the gunman – 18-year-old Karl Halverson Pierson – is dead.

“I believe that that shooter took his life because he knew that he had been found,” said Grayson Robinson, an Arapahoe County Sheriff.

Deputies say Pierson might have been seeking revenge against a specific faculty member, reportedly the school’s librarian and head of the speech and debate team. But, no one knows why.

Authorities are combing through Pierson’s car, homes and looking through school surveillance video to find some answers. But, no matter what they find, the shooting will never make sense.
