HOUSTON, TX = In Washington, President and First Lady Obama observe a moment of silence, and light candles to honor the 20 students and 6 adults killed one year ago at Sandy Hook Elementary.

In Houston, you won’t find silence here.  Moms Demand Action For Gun Sense in America rang bells to honor the victims of Sandy Hook, and send a message that it’s time to make noise about gun reform.

In America, on average, we lose 33 mothers, fathers, sons and daughters to gun violence every day.  One year ago, 28 lives were lost in Newtown, Connecticut alone, and looking at the recent events in Colorado reminds us how far these mothers still have to go.
