HUNTSVILLE, TX – Graduation day at Sam Houston State in Hunstville, is taking on a different tune after university officials say three Bearkats died in a car accident on campus, and another student was sent to a hospital.

SHSU officials, say Blanca Espinal, 19, of Houston, Eric Torres, 22, of San Juan and another person were killed, and Thomas Roling, 22, of The Woodlands was injured.

There’s no word as of Saturday afternoon on what caused the crash, but the damage left behind to a building at the intersection of Avenue I and Bowers Boulevard is pretty bad.

Graduation ceremonies and ACT testing are going on as planned. But, it’s probably safe to say, the accident was definitely not a part of the plan.
