HOUSTON, TX – The area of Southampton and Boulevard Oaks in Houston has been a hot topic since 2007. It’s where Buckhead Investment partners want to build a 21-story high rise, better know as the Ashby high rise. But residents in the area don’t want it, so they spoke up and they were heard.

The verdict was unanimous.

“They found that the project will in fact be a nuisance for the majority of the homeowners. It looks like they based it on the proximity to the building,” said Houston lawyer Jean Frizzell.

A Harris County jury awarded damages to some of the residents who filed a suit against the developers.

But the high rise, high-profile case isn’t over. The judge in the case will rule separately on whether or not to allow the project to go forward.
