MINNEAPOLIS, MN – Beyonce fans are probably still recovering from shock after she dropped her new, self-titled album exclusively on iTunes last Friday. Now there’s a little more shock going around after Target announced that it won’t be selling a hard copy of her new album.
Target says it’s focused on offering music to customers that’s made available in various formats at the same time. Because Beyonce decided to sell her album digitally before an actual CD was released, Target says that impacts their demand and sales projections.
With Beyonce selling more than 617,000 digital copies and debating at number one on the Billboard 200, we doubt she’s fretting much.
They don’t call her Queen B for nothing.
