biggioHOUSTON, TX – Injustice! Blasphemy! Craig Biggio didn’t just get snubbed, worse than that, in his second year of eligibility for the Baseball Hall of Fame. Biggio missed induction by the slimmest of margins.

You need 75% of the votes from the Baseball Writer’s Association, Biggio got 74.8%.

The news was worse for Biggio’s former teammates, Jeff Bagwell, who got 54% of the vote. Roger Clemens only received 35%.

It was a banner day for two former Astros nemesis Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine. They both made it to the hall, and slugger Frank Thomas got in, too.

But the guy who has come so close the last two years, has to wait for at least one more.

Biggio may have missed this year’s Hall of Fame class; but how he’s dealing with it, puts him in a class of his own.
