ANTIOCH, CA – Some criminals are smooth, but 29-year-old Jamal Garret isn’t such a smooth criminal.

Police in California say Jamal walked into a Wells Fargo bank and demanded money. The only problem, things got a little lost in translation. No, there wasn’t a language barrier. It was his penmanship. Jamal handed the teller a note, but she couldn’t read it so she called her manager for help. That’s when police say Jamal made a break for it out a back door. It wasn’t until after the fact that bank staff realized what Jamal’s true intentions were.

Police tracked him down and arrested him. Maybe Jamal can spend some of that time behind bars working on his handwriting.
