BEAUMONT, TX – Texas public schools have been cut time and time again. And now they’ve been robbed. Allegedly.

It is a plot that is just unfolding within the Beaumont Independent School District. Federal officials say two district employees embezzled over $4 million from the school system. 35-year-old B.I.S.D. Director of Finance Devin McCraney and 43-year-old Comptroller Sharika Allison allegedly carried out 18 wire transfers, starting back in 2010.

The two face conspiracy and fraud charges, and up to ten years in prison.
