HOUSTON, TX – School’s out! With the icy weather in Houston most school districts played it safe, closing down shop for the day. Leaving many parents in quite the predicament, though Clint Shows understands the school district.

“To be responsible, you never know what you’re going to get, so i think it was a good thing,” he says.

Clint brought his child to Adventure Kids, where parents can drop their little ones off to be supervised while they play with other kids their age. Or parents can step next door into the office area so mom or dad can get a little work done.

Across town, at the Houston museum of natural science, an opportunity to spend a day of learning with kids while both were playing hooky. Most employers understand.

No one we saw out traveled all that far to get where they were going, and spending a little more time with mom or dad seemed to be something kids really enjoyed.

But hey — next time a little snow, eh? Mother nature is such a tease!
