adsHOUSTON, TX – In the race for Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Todd Staples is trying to staple his opponent as a hypocrite.

The agriculture commissioner has vowed to put $800,000 and all of his ad-time before next week’s primary, toward highlighting media reports which claim Senator Dan Patrick knowingly hired illegal workers at a bar he owned back in the eighties.

Staples thinks he has gold, especially seeing as Patrick claims to be hardline on immigration.

A Patrick TV ad states: “Dan Patrick is the only candidate for lieutenant governor to oppose instate tuition for illegal immigrants.” In the spot, Patrick goes on to say “I’ll do what Washington won’t do. I will secure our border and I’ll end sanctuary cities.”

Patrick’s campaign claims the allegations against him are false.
