NASA’s Kepler space telescope discovers 715 new planets
HOUSTON, TX – For centuries humans has asked the question, are we alone? Well it looks like the answer could be no.
NASA discovered not one, but 715 new planets. Four of the planets are in “habitable zone,” which basically means it could potentially support life. The planets, which orbit 305 different stars, were discovered by the Kepler Space Telescope and were verified using a new technique.
If you think that’s good news, it could get even better. Scientists say the new technique they used to discover the planets should make future planetary discoveries more frequent and more detailed. And there’s more. NASA is also still waiting on another batch of data that’ll reveal even more on the planets.
Forget booking your trip to Mars, at this rate, we’re going to need some connecting flights!
