HOUSTON — At Texas Southern University, Congressman Michael McCaul held a hearing about human trafficking on Thursday.  Ironic timing, seeing as just one day before, Houston police found 115 people—including a pregnant lady and a couple of children—stashed inside a Pearland home in deplorable conditions.

“We will raise awareness of this issue and identify solutions that will have a significant impact on human trafficking in Houston and throughout this nation,” said Congressman McCaul.

Five people are now reportedly being charged in that case, for offenses that include taking hostages, unlawfully carrying a weapon and conspiracy to harbor illegal aliens.

As that lawmakers and look for solutions on the issue overall, the investigation into just what was going on in that stash house is underway.
