BAXTER, TENNESSEE – The great-niece of legendary performer Johnny Cash was found stabbed to death inside her apartment in Putman County, Tennessee.

This man….27-year old Wayne Masciarella is in custody, charged with first degree murder in the death of Courtney Cash. He’s also accused of stabbing her boyfriend.

Cash’s body was found stuffed inside a large wooden chest. Just terrible.

Apparently, the three were friends.

Investigators say cash and her boyfriend had gone out with Masciarella Tuesday night.

When they returned home to the couple’s place, a fight broke out and police say Masciarella stabbed them both.

The couple’s 20 month old baby was inside while all of this was going down.

Luckily, Cash’s boyfriend managed to get away with their baby and drive himself to the hospital.

He’s in stable condition. The baby was uninjured.

Courtney’s grandfather, Tommy Cash — Johnny’s brother — released a statement on facebook.

He said “We are completely heartbroken” and asked for privacy for the family as “we handle the loss of my grand-daughter, pray for the father of my great-grand child and journey through the search for justice on this violent act”.

Maybe Masciarella will end up in Folsom Prison.
