Houston firefighters bring massive Montrose fire under control

HOUSTON, TX – Houston firefighters have brought a massive fire under control in the Montrose area. Thick black smoke was billowing into the air and could be seen for miles during the height of the five-alarm fire. The fire started around 12:30 p.m. at the corner of W. Dallas at Marconi, where an apartment complex was under construction.

Flames engulfed and destroyed several of the buildings. The buildings are surrounded by many other apartment homes and traffic is tied up as law enforcement closed down nearby streets.

No injuries have been reported.
