PITTSBURGH, PA – They’re supposed to take a stab at learning. Not each other.

At least 20 students are hurt from more school violence.

Several of the victims were flown from Franklin Regional Senior High to area hospitals. Officials say the injuries are serious.

“We had two people go immediately to the operating room, and a third patient is being taken to the operating room,” said Dr. Chris Kaufmann, Director of the Trauma center at Forbes Regional Hospital. “There are additional patients getting imaging x-rays, CT scan and ultrasounds that may require intervention later on, as we discover internal injuries in these patients.”

Cops have a suspect in custody.

But what led to almost two dozen 14 to 17 year olds sustaining these serious wounds is not yet clear.

The Murrysville school is about 15 miles east of Pittsburgh.
